May 10, 2009 – Sermon: What We Should Give to Mom
Scripture: Matthew 15:4; Ephesians 5:25; 2 Timothy 1:5; Titus 2:3-4

We’ve too much devalued motherhood. We’ve forgotten the importance of the role that mother’s play. For if, as we often say, "children are our most valuable resource," that must make mothers our most important citizens!

In his article, “The Glue of Society: Celebrating Mother’s Day” Pastor Johann Arnolds writes: “Mothers are the backbone of our society and the glue that holds a family together — their work is vital but often unseen. We all need to show greater appreciation for them.”

We all do need to show greater appreciation for the mothers amongst us. And today we consider what it is that WE should give to mothers; those women who have given us so much.
